Hello Hayley There is in the common egg omelet, sure. That’s not on our list from earlier. The only things on our list above that contain eggs are the Egg White Patty and the Egg Salad, both of which are devoid of milk. Hope that was helpful.
These appear fantastic! They are made from scratch, which I adore! In terms of conquering my heart, I agree with you. I require something excellent, such as these Subway sauces, for example. Delicious! Pinned!
There is no dairy in Subway’s creamy Italian dressing. really?? Are you certain of that?
I never have complete confidence in what restaurants report! According to their allergen chart, it doesn’t contain milk or dairy, so I’m just reporting it.
And Subway is fantastic! When I inform them I’m allergic to dairy, they make no fuss at all. They receive fresh gloves, a clean knife, and in one instance, sanitization!
I’m allergic to both dairy and gluten. Does Subway’s gluten-free bread contain dairy?
I think this post has a link to Subway where you may confirm their allergens.
There are no dairy (milk) ingredients in mayo. However, due to the presence of eggs in the mayo, it is still not vegan.
Hello Chris I appreciate you providing the information about the UK subway. Our information is specifically for the US subway. Since the majority of deli meat in the US doesn’t contain milk or dairy, it appears that methods are different in the UK. Many of them contain lactylates, but they are almost never obtained from dairy in the US.
It goes against the way they normally make a sandwich, but I am always polite and tell them it is less confusing if they make the dairy-free first – completely – before coming back and making the others. At Subway, we also always ask them to wash the knife and we watch them wash it.. and to use the same knife – keeping it on the paper as they make the complete sandwich (then make others). I might even buy something separately if it’s busy to avoid making other people wait while I place a special order.

The Vegan Menu at Subway
Everything that is vegan on Subway’s allergy menu has been listed. For a list of everything at Subway that is vegan, read our vegan guide.
The fact that you are a vegan does not preclude you from enjoying fast food. When you’re out and it’s the only thing nearby, it can also be necessary.
Background: In 1965, Connecticut saw the launch of Subway. With approximately 40,000 locations, it is one of the largest American chain fast food restaurants globally. There are still certain Subway dishes that vegans can order even though they are famous for their hoagies with a variety of meat selections.
Dairy-Free Subway Menu
Here is the entire Subway dairy-free menu, which includes some delicious salad and sub options.
Additionally, make sure to let the person creating your sandwich know that you have a dairy allergy so they can change their gloves before cooking it.

According to Subway, its tuna salad contains flakes tuna.
If you’ve ever reached for a tuna can at the grocery store, it’s likely that you were daunted by the selection. You can choose from solid tuna, chunk tuna, or flaked tuna in addition to white tuna, light tuna, and even flavored tuna. Subway’s tuna salad recipe calls for the latter, but what does that actually entail?
According to Spoon University, flaked tuna is the least expensive type of canned tuna you can buy. However, “flaked” may indicate that you aren’t receiving a lot of tuna. The smaller the tuna is diced, the more it may absorb the liquid it’s packed in, whether that’s oil or water, and flaked tuna can absorbed up to 20 percent of the water and brine that it comes in. According to Spoon University, tuna packed in water can have higher omega-3 fatty acids. Subway’s ingredient list says that their tuna is packed in water, but that may not be all bad news.
Tuna is it vegan?
Even though tuna is off-limits to vegetarians and vegans because it comes from an animal, there are excellent store-bought plant-based substitutes these days. Chickpeas can also be used to produce a fantastic substitute for tuna salad.
Do McDonald’s fries have dairy in them?
- Understand the preparation locations and methods. For instance, many restaurants will serve dairy-free dishes, but they will be prepared using the same methods and/or oil as dishes that do contain dairy. Even touching equipment that had come into contact with dairy could result in severe stomach problems or potentially fatal responses for someone who has a dairy sensitivity or allergy. Take dedicated fryers for french fries, for instance (McDonald’s does not have them, and their fries actually include dairy, which is mind-boggling, isn’t it?!).
- Check the placement or storage of food containers. This is crucial in buffet-style restaurants or other establishments where food is prepared while diners select the toppings. Consider a restaurant where you may create your own pizza or a sub store. There’s a good likelihood the cheese fell into the container of ground sausage if it’s very adjacent to the meat. The nacho cheese sauce may be placed close to the taco filling at the taco-making station and drip from the ladle whenever a worker rushes to take an order.
Do the fries at McDonald’s include dairy?
- McMuffin Egg (no cheese, no butter)
- Bacon McMuffin (no cheese, no butter)
- Egg and Sausage McMuffin (no cheese, no butter)
- Simple Eggs Scrambled (no butter)
- Maple Fruit & Oatmeal (prepared with water, no cream)
Be Warned! McDonald’s hashbrowns DO CONTAIN milk in the United States. Hashbrowns are made without dairy in various nations, including the UK, Canada, and some others. McDonald’s prepares their breakfast sandwiches with both salted and clarified butter. Make sure neither is used if you need to avoid dairy. Dairy is present in the hotcakes and scrambled egg mixture (for the burritos).

How much dairy is in mayonnaise?
Emulsifying eggs, oil, and a form of acid—typically vinegar or lemon juice—leads to the creation of mayonnaise. Emulsification is the process of mixing two or more liquids that wouldn’t typically mix. Emulsions can be permanent or transient. Before adding vinaigrettes to salads, shake them because they are transitory emulsions formed of oil and vinegar. A permanent emulsion is mayo. Egg yolk is effectively kept together by the emulsifier lecithin.
Products made from the milk of other mammals, such as cows, sheep, and goats, are referred to as dairy products. Since mayonnaise doesn’t contain any milk products, it doesn’t contain any dairy. A
Despite being an animal product, eggs are not regarded as a dairy item. Because eggs and mayonnaise don’t contain lactose, they are safe to eat if you have a dairy allergy or lactose intolerance. A However, some eggless mayonnaise recipes use condensed milk for the eggs. A
Mayonnaise is not vegan because it contains eggs. A vegan food item is one that uses no animal products in its production. Commercial vegan mayonnaise brands may substitute aquafaba, the thick liquid produced during the cooking or soaking of chickpeas, for eggs.
The majority of commercial brands of mayo don’t contain dairy, but they might contain some of the following:
- safflower oil
- vodka vinegar
- either eggs or yolks
- Concentrated lemon juice
- herbs and spices, such as paprika, to add flavor and color.
- food additives and preservatives, such as calcium disodium EDTA.
If you have a food allergy, always double-check the nutrition label for an ingredient list. Be mindful that some mayonnaise-based sauces and dressings, such ranch, may contain dairy. A A
What kind of mayonnaise does Subway employ?
The mayonnaise at Subway is different, though I couldn’t tell you why until recently. The main ingredients of mayonnaise are acid, salt, egg yolk, and oil. This uses the same basic idea but modifies a few details and adds a ton of flavorings to mimic the enticing taste of Subway style mayonnaise.
Are eggs present in Subway mayonnaise?
Updated on 10/15/08 A reader asked about the Veggie Patty from Subway in the comments section below. A customer service agent replied to my email with the information below. Egg whites can be found in both the Gardenburger and VegiMax. The fact that Subway even offers these things surprised me!
The stated values include a 3.0 ounce burger, wheat or white bread, and all the usual vegetables. There is no cheese or other condiment.
The details listed above apply to a 6 inch sub, a locally produced item. However, the nutritious content may change based on the maker of the store.
From October 14, 2008: I found the following details on the Subway website.
- All breads are egg-free.
- There are no components produced from animals in the Italian bread from SUBWAY(r)
- The bread contains plant-derived mono- and diglycerides and sodium stearoyl-2-lactylate.
- Honey, which might be regarded as an animal-derived substance, is an ingredient in the wheat bread and sandwich roll.
- The breads topped with Parmesan, Oregano, and other types of cheese do include components derived from milk.
- The majority of the rennet utilized in processing is microbial, but because of production-related factors, there is a possibility that the cheese may contain cow rennin.
- There is no rennet obtained from pigs in the cheese.
Dressings and Condiments
- All condiments and sauces are egg-free, bar the Chipotle Southwest Sauce, Honey Mustard Sauce, Ranch, and Mayonnaise, according to the allergen list (see below).
- All sweets contain eggs.
- The Veggie Delite(r) on Italian bread and the Veggie Delite(r) salad are two menu items without components originating from animals.
- Additionally, none of the following specific items—all veggies, oil, vinegar, mustard, sweet onion sauce, and Fruizle—contain substances produced from animals.
As a side note, I am aware that you can ask staff to don new gloves when preparing your sandwich.
