Is spicy Italian sausage good for you? My response: I believe it depends on the source. In this instance, free range Italian sausage might not be the healthiest option. It moves about.

A: What aisle in Walmart has Italian sausage? My response: I’ve never seen hot Italian sausage, especially, at Walmart. Never.

Here is a typical sausage recipe that complies with the Whole30 diet. Simply add more red pepper flakes to the Italian sausage if you’d like it hotter.

Brats: Whole30 compliant or not?

Beer-braised bratwurst is one of our favorite weekend dishes to prepare. It’s incredibly simple to prepare, especially when feeding a large group of people. And everyone is certain to adore this Whole30 dish for braised bratwurst and cabbage.

Finding Whole30-compliant bratwurst is surprisingly simple, as I discovered throughout my challenge. The Whole Foods meat counter is where I purchased mine, but I’ve also seen it at other grocers and Brat Hans also sells some. However, any sausage link that complies with the requirements will do in this recipe.

  • Ideally made of cast iron, a skillet should be heated to medium-high. Add the onions and oil. For three minutes, saute while seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • The bratwurst sausages should be nested in the onions. Cook the bratwursts, covered, for about 20 minutes, turning them over halfway through. Then, add the broth and apple cider vinegar.
  • The brats should be taken out and placed on a plate. If desired, you can grill the brats to give them more flavor and grill markings.
  • In the meantime, add 1 tablespoon of brown mustard and the cabbage to the skillet. Sauté for about 7 minutes, or until cabbage is soft. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Reposition the brats into the cabbage. Serve with mustard and sauerkraut.

Since you obviously eat yogurt with a spoon but don’t aggressively chew it like food, it falls into a peculiar middle ground. Additionally, as was already said, nuts aren’t the finest source of fat, but they are still permitted throughout the Whole30.
