A “Spicy Tuna” sandwich is available there that will tantalize your taste senses. The sandwich’s ingredients include tomato, tabasco, jalapenos, vegan pesto, and tuna on thin crust bread. I chose to make it myself because I can’t always be in New York City or Miami. Since the bread they use is exclusive to their chain, I used sourdough, along with tuna, jalapenos, mayo, radish, avocado, tomato, and tabasco. It was quite tasty and unquestionably a simple sandwich you can make this spring and summer. You get a terrific combination of nutrient-dense meals in one meal, and it is very refreshing. 3. At this point, prepare your tomato, radish, and avocado. Let’s combine everything.
4. Spread the tuna, tomato, and radish on one side of the bread, then top with the avocado. Salt, lemon pepper seasoning, and tabasco sauce should all be used to personalize the dish.
5. Top with the second slice of bread and cut the sandwich in half.

So I decided to give it a go and created a variation at home using very little mashed banana.
I must agree that the sauce does have a small aftertaste on its own, however when spread on a sandwich or paired with roasted veggies or meats, the aftertaste is unnoticeable.
The impact of pine nuts is actually fairly nicely imitated by the creamy texture and somewhat sweet flavor of the mashed banana.
The following recipe is based on the original pesto from Genoa but offers the option to use bananas in place of the pine nuts.
Although I understand that not everyone like adding banana, it is still worthwhile to give it a shot.
