Hey everyone, My TJ pinwheels were just cooked for 15 minutes at 400. They came out well! I sprinkled some garlic olive oil, salt, and pepper on mine after hearing other people lament the blandness, and it turned out very well! If I had some lemon, I think it would have really made a difference.
I just made these last night, and they are delicious. Since they differ from conventional salmon and there were no instructions, I wasn’t sure what to do, but this is what I did: Put on a baking pan and season with cracked salt and pepper on both sides (on top of a piece of aluminum foil for no cleanup) Turn on the broiler to Low and give the oven a few minutes to warm up. After five minutes, switch to High and broil for another three to four minutes.
Food can burn in a broiler very rapidly, so be sure to keep an eye on it while it’s cooking on high. To check if the salmon is cooked through, cut into the thickest area. Salmon that has been overcooked is not very delicious, so be sure to remove it as soon as it ceases to be raw. When cooked this manner, they were incredibly flaky and tasty, and I would definitely buy them again.
Thanks for the information! I made these according to your timing and they turned out excellent. I also covered them in olive oil, sprinkled some minced garlic on top, and added some garlic powder. After that, squeeze some lemon juice, as many people have suggested here.
These I just made! Olive oil, salt, and pepper were added before placing them under the broiler for 8 minutes. later added lemon on top. Perfect outcome. 🙂
reviews for Salmon Pinwheels from Trader Joe’s
These were top-notch! The TJ’s employee told me that because pan searing the salmon preserves its flavor, he does it before cooking it. He wasn’t mistaken. I cooked the salmon for 13 minutes at 400 degrees after pan-searing it for 3 minutes on each side on medium heat. They turned out wonderful and quite tasty. I added salt, pepper, and lemon juice to mine. I really like these now, so I hope they keep them in stock.
Oh, after taking this tasty meal out of the oven, a drizzle of olive oil improves the flavor.
I considered trying this because I adore preparing and eating salmon. Boy, was I mistaken; this was by far the worst fish I had ever tasted. The package’s Mediterranean-style label needs to be taken off because the flavor truly lacks respect!
I pan seared mine for about five minutes on each side in a hot nonstick pan. I used a thermometer to make sure the salmon reached 145 while it was cooking and I liberally sprayed it with lemon juice. It’s tasty, in my opinion! Salmon that melts in your mouth is moist. Nothing else but the lemon juice was added. delicious fast food!
The packet should include preparation advice. I haven’t eaten them because I’m unsure how to prepare them.
My partner adores these. Since they are farm-braised salmon with color added, I shall start making my own in the future. Use Brianna’s recommended recipe, btw. While you don’t need to watch the oven, the timing of 12 minutes at 400 degrees is fairly accurate (oven temps vary)
